Overview

The 2010 BMW X3, a five-passenger sports activity vehicle (SAV), offers sports car-like performance and handling with all-road capability and utility. Available in a single trim - xDrive30i - the X3 is a perfectly-sized SAV with xDrive, intelligent all-wheel drive system.

Power and performance

A versatile SAV, the 2010 BMW X3 is powered by a 260-hp 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission; a six-speed automatic with Steptronic manual shift mode is also available. The inline-6 engine offers smooth power, great acceleration, and 225 lb-ft of torque at 2750 rpms. The xDrive, intelligent all-wheel drive system, unlike other all-wheel drive systems, is built with rear wheel bias for surefooted grip on slick roads, without sacrificing the feel of rear-wheel drive. It smartly sends power to the wheel or wheels with the surest footing - and it does so in milliseconds. It delivers 24 mpg on highways.

Body and styling

The 2010 BMW X3 is a carryover from 2009 with a few changes. Now it is big enough to command on the road and small enough to keep the driver and passengers connected with it, and it is as graceful as any BMW. Seventeen-inch alloy wheels, a Panorama glass moonroof, automatic climate control, wood interior trimmings, and durable leatherette upholstery are some of the standard equipment.

Safety Features

Anti-lock disc brakes, front side-impact airbags, rollover sensor, overhead airbags for both rows, and a tire pressure monitor are some of the safety and security features on the 2010 BMW X3.
